With comfort and breathability in mind, Arcteryx bring us the Emoji pant. Styled and based around a climbing trouser, it features a relaxed fit and a lightweight cotton/ nylon canvas material for range of movement and unparalleled comfort. The materials used combine the natural fibre's cool comfort with the nylon's durability, creating a trouser lighter and more comfortable than the average softshell material.
A relaxed fit ensures there is complete range of movement without compromising the fit, but also allows more movement around the knees and more air to flow - essential for a climber. Articulated knees and a gusseted crotch further increase the mobility and comfort, while the Nylon aspect of the fabric keeps the durability high. An especially wide waistband is soft and folds over for a comfortable fit, while the elasticated drawcords at the hems secure the fit while climbing or walking and release for everyday casual wear.
'Relaxed fit' - Relaxed fit garments rely on both articulation and higher volume patterns to provide comfort and mobility. Arcteryx's looser fit features room for a base layer plus a thick layer for cold weather.
For 2016, Arcteryx have adjusted the fit of all their trousers for women, changing the fit mainly around the hips and thighs. The new fit is slightly more generous around the waist, while slimmer in the hips. The logic behind the revised fit is that it will fit a larger quantity of people better than ever before.
