Much like the very well known and established Fjallraven, Lundhags has the same idea of beautifully crafted, environmentally friendly Scandinavian products that will last a lifetime and can be passed down to future generations.
The Greij jacket is constructed mainly from Lundhags own LPC Eco fabric; a polyester and organic cotton blend that provides an almost windproof barrier against the elements. What's special about this jacket however is that their 3 layer Zethar fabric has been used on the shoulders and hood to provide a completely waterproof section where the rain falls primarily. This allows the jacket to be ultra breathable in areas where you perspire the most and more weather resistant in areas that are more vulnerable to rain and snow. This Polyester and Cotton blend also provides a naturally high level of sun protection.
Moving up to the hood, it features a fully waterproof membrane and several adjustment points to allow the hood to fit varying head shapes and sizes. To increase comfort and durability, Lundhags also feature a seamless design on the shoulders. Quite often when a seam is placed on the shoulders it will create chafing, especially while wearing a heavy pack, therefore the seam has been cut out completely in this area. By doing this it also increases the durability of the jacket and reduces the chance of rain entering over time.
Extra reinforcements are added over the elbows for further durability, however this doesn't reduce mobility thanks to clever articulation throughout the elbow and shoulder areas.
Storage is taken care of by two zipped medium sized chest pockets and two hand pockets that double up as integrated ventilation. The chest pockets are a useful size for a phone, keys, GPS or snacks, while the hand pockets take the wind off as well as allow sweat to escape in warmer climates.
The Greij is perhaps not the most technical outdoor jacket in the world, but it'll provide you with years of reliable service and become one of those favourite bits of kit for almost every outdoor situation.
