The new Vengeance Glove (technically it's a Gauntlet) from Rab uses the brilliant OutDry waterproof membrane to keep you dry and allow full dexterity when using ice tools or fiddling about with straps and buckles. The Vengeance is insulated and features Pittards Amortan leather reinforcements on the main wear areas. This beast of a glove is built to last and will provide years of service to all mountain users.
Rab have used their own Matrix softshell fabric to construct the main body of these gloves, this tough nylon fabric is stretchy, breathable and quick drying. This is then backed up by the brilliant OutDry waterproof and breathable membrane. OutDry uses a one-piece patented construction process that creates a waterproof breathable barrier. This impenetrable layer is heat-bonded directly to the Matrix outer fabric, leaving no seams, no gaps, and no way for water to get in. Compare that to traditional waterproof technology. Water gets in and stays in, collecting in the space between the inner and outer layers, making them heavy and wet. So in a nutshell your gloves stay drier and lighter your hands stay dry and warm and can actually do stuff whilst wearing the gloves
Insulation is provided by a deep pile fleece lining on the back of the hand and a lightweight Bemberg (brushed fabric) lining on the palm, this ensures you maintain grip and dexterity. Toughness and durability is provided by Pittards Amortan Leather reinforcements on the palm and fingers, this clever technology encases the fibrils within the leather with microscopic ceramic ‘armor plates’. This creates leather that provides more abrasion resistance and durability against wear on contact surfaces.
To further enhance these gloves dexterity Rab have constructed the fingers with pre-curved boxwalls so they actually follow the shape of your hand and allow the fingers a full range of movement. A nice long wrist closure with a drawcord closure helps to keep out the elements and allows a tight seal over your wrists or your clothing.
