The Alpha Trad, as the name suggests, is your first choice (Alpha) for all forms of outdoor (Trad) climbing and is a thing of beauty with smooth, clean, snag free lines and hot forged ergonomics so that it sits perfectly in your hand and is easy to use even with gloves on. The main feature of the Alpha Trad is the clean nose profile which completely eliminates snagging. The highly sprung wire gate is secured on a low profile keylock nose that gives you super slick clipping and unclipping; this anti-snag design will not catch on your gear as the biner moves helping to prevent dangerous cross loading.
DMM have used complex metal manipulation to achieve a very low weight with a high strength rating. The back of the biner is wider to maximise strength and features grooves for extra grip whilst any unnecessary metal has been removed. The ergonomic shape sits really well in your hand, combined with the wide 27mm gate opening clipping is a piece of cake. When clipped the rope runs smoothly over the fatter, flared deep basket, this shaping also protects your rope and ensures it always sits correctly.
This set comes with 1 x 12cm, 3 x 18cm and 1 x 25cm 11mm dyneema quickdraws which are very light and strong, UV and abrasion resistant. Each quickdraw features a rubber tadpole captor which holds the rope clipping biner in the correctly aligned position and makes it easier to clip.
