As a company Eagle Creek consider themselves to be a “tribe of travellers”. Born in the San Jacinto Mountains of California as the brain-child of Steve and Nona Barker, Eagle Creek's duffels are designed by travellers for travellers. Taking note from the trials and tribulations that travellers face on a regular basis, Eagle Creek's aim is to take the hassle out of travelling. They not only build immensely useful products but they also build them to last by using ridiculously tough materials and construction methods, meaning your kit stays reassuringly safe and the bag itself doesn’t end up in a landfill.
This is the perfect sized bag for weekends away, short holidays and general travel duties thanks to the 78L of total storage. Speaking of storage, you're given a huge main compartment with a wrap-around zip which gives you full access to your kit. Inside here you'll find two compression straps which can be used to secure the contents of the bag to avoid it all rolling about during transit. A large compartment attached to the inside of the lid houses another internal pocket which allows you to separate your dirty and clean/wet and dry clothes. Outside the bag, you have a zipped water bottle pocket and a handy quick-to-access pocket on the top of the Expanse, designed specifically to get you through airport security faster and easier.
Around the back of the Expanse, a zipped compartment houses Eagle Creek's full harness, featuring padded and moisture wicking shoulder straps, a sternum strap with emergency whistle and a padded hip belt to take the weight off your shoulders and put it efficiently onto your hips. This is adjustable depending on the length of your back, so the Expanse Convertible is deisnged to fit almost all shapes and sizes. If you don't fancy carrying the Expanse, some sturdy wheels and an extendable handle mean you can pull your kit along with ease.
One shining feature of this bag is Eagle Creek's central locking system. Each zip has the ability to lock to the other, while a reinforced hole in the top of the bag means you can thread the lock not only through the zip itself, but through the hole to fasten the zips securely at the top of the bag.
