What are the Over-the-Calf Padded socks?
These super thick over-the-calf socks are from Darn Tough's Vertical range and are designed for the coldest environments while skiing, snowboarding and just about anywhere covered in powdery goodness. The 'padded cushion' part of the title (as you may have guessed) refers to the thicker, warmer and more padded design of these socks, making them far more comfortable with the use of ski and snow boots.

What are they made of?
These socks are made from a mixture of 60% Merino wool, 36% Nylon and 4% Lycra. The fine gauge knitting makes this sock a true work horse that is supremely comfortable, breathable and fast drying. Merino wool has a natural ability to repel bacteria, so you can wear these socks for days before you need to wash them. This all-weather sock stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
How cushioned are they?
These socks are aimed at skiers, snowboarders and mountaineers, so the cushioning is zoned throughout the sock. They have a lighter (but still mid-heavyweight) weight knit throughout the majority of the sock with extra padding in the heel, toes and down the front of the skins for extra protection when leaning into your ski/snowboarding boots.
What are the features?
The sock has a smooth performance fit to reduce slipping, bunching and blistering and they have a low ankle. Comfort is further enhanced by the True Seamless construction which does away with bulky stitched seams and increases comfort.
