What is the Flashpoint?

The Flashpoint pull on is ideal for those who want to keep weight and pack size to a minimum, whilst still retaining the technical mountain features that we all know and love from Rab. Weighing just 130g (about the same as your phone, maybe even less!), it's one of the most packable, lightweight and breathable jackets available. 

What is it made from?

The key to this light weight is the Pertex Shield fabric. This ultra-light and minimalistic fabric is fully waterproof, protecting you from the elements when you're out and about, but also super packable for when it's not needed. As well as its incredible packability, it's incredibly breathable. On average, a standard waterproof jacket will generally feature a MVTR (moisture vapour transmission rate; breathability, basically) of around 20,000, however the Flashpoint doubles this. This essentially means that the Flashpoint will be around twice as breathable as a jacket with an already high rating of 20,000.

What are the features?

Feature wise, you get a half zip which can be zipped up for full protection of left half undone for greater ventilation, a chest pocket for snacks or a compass, elasticated cuffs, an elasticated waist and a slim fitting hood. The hood features a drawcord to cinch in on cold, windy days and a stiffened peak to prevent rain dripping onto your face. The feature set is simple, however that's what makes this jacket so lightweight and packable. Lastly, a handy stuffsack is included when you want to pack the jacket down in the bottom of your bag, while reflective branding on the sleeve allows you to be seen in low light.

How does it fit?

Featuring a regular fit, the Flashpoint is roomy enough to allow you to wear extra layers during colder months, yet not so baggy to have excess fabric flapping around in the wind. It's around an average length in the body and arms and features a slim elastic waist to prevent moisture from the ground flicking up your back.

This is a bit more tricky! Measure from the top of your spine (at the bottom of your neck) to your elbow and on the your wrist

5Arm

You should place the beginning of the measuring tape behind your shoulder, and feed it out following your arm making sure to pass both the elbow joint and the wrist, as pictured. You should take the measurement at the point where you would like the sleeve to end. This is usually just past your wrist.
