The Sarken from Petzl is a lightweight, durable, rigid and technical mountaineering crampon, designed for the most demanding use, from hardcore mountaineering to winter climbing and technical alpinism.
The front of the Crampon features T-shaped points; these are far more secure and stable in snow and ice than previous alternatives and will penetrate thick ice more easily. To limit the amount of snow build-up that amounts to the crampon, Petzl have encorporated their Antisnow system, included with the crampons, to shed snow when in use.
A brilliant feature of the Sarken is it's modular design; you can essentially pick and mix certain sections to your liking. The rear half of the Sarken stays the same and is standard across the Petzl range, while the front can be changed depending on what you're doing. This not only saves weight by not having to carry muliple crampons, but also saves a lot of money as you're only buying sections of the crampon rather than 3 more full sets of crampons.
Petzl's Leverlock Universal Bindings make it easier than ever to attach your crampon to any trekking/mountaineering books with rear welts. Unlike many other crampons, the Sarken features two components (FIL and FIL FLEX) to allow you to use the crampon with boots with or without a front welt. 12 total points make the Sarken stable, secure and highly versatile for a range of environments.
