The Maestro is a highly technical climbing shoe featuring a multitude of technologies from Scarpa which have revolutionised the way Scarpa have looked at a set of stickies.
Scarpa's IPC-Tension System (integral power connection) offers unrivalled support to your foot when you need it most and when climbing for prolonged periods of time, yet allows your foot to flex for smears. It works by allowing the system to rise up at the sides of your foot for flexibility laterally, yet features a thinner and more flexible material underfoot to flex during smears. Increasing the accuracy and feel of the shoe even further is a specially designed midsole with cut-outs near the toe area to allow your foot to flex at the ball of the foot while maintaining support on micro footholds.
Obviously what's inside the shoe isn't everything, it has to perform from the inside out. The entire upper of the shoe is made from an ultra tough combination of microfibre and leather in just three total pieces, meaning less stitch points and less chance of failure over time. The way Scarpa have stitched the pieces of fabric together also mean that you get a seamless big toe panel for the highest level of comfort. Another benefit of the leather used is that it will mould and shape to your foot over time the more you use it.
The sole on the Maestro is taken care of by Vibram's XS Edge, a super soft compound of rubber which is designed to combine durability and stickiness for the optimum performance. The heel features 2mm rubber inlays to provide further support and tension to the shoe while helping to maintain a high comfort level.
A slightly downturned shape, technical materials and a revolutionary midsole system combine to provide one of the best climbing shoes for indoor and trad climbing (provided they fit you!).
