Have you struggled to find the perfect combination between a technical insulated jacket, that packs down well, is easy to wash yet also looks good on and doesn't look out of place when you're around town? Believe me, I hear you; so have a look at this...
Mountain Equipment's Fuse Jacket is a lightweight, highly breathable and packable featherless jacket. It's super warm, fits under a shell jacket very easily (it's matt finish ensures a smoother glide when you are fighting to get your waterproof jacket on in a rush), works very well as a stand alone jacket on beautiful, dry, chilly days, and packs down easily into it's own pocket; so even if you have a small pack, you can take it out with you on a day where you're not too sure what the weather is going to do. The Fuse has managed to combine Mountain Equipments solid reputation of durability and high quality whilst the stylish quilted design adds an element of classic British countryside (Mountain Equipment themselves are born, bred and designed in Britain, and are still owned by the family that started it all).
The stuff that keeps you cosy is 214g of Polarloft featherless insulation, which is ideal for changable British mountian conditions because it will still keep you warm even if it gets wet, maintains its loft and drys out far faster than down. This is essential if it's going to be regularly exposed to moisture - be it from the glorious British weather or from your own sweat when it's under a waterproof jacket. This is all protected by a 20D ripstop Nylon with mechanical stretch, which optimises breathability whilst staying completely windproof and doesn't restrict your movement when you're feeling a bit more adventurous.
Storage wise, the jacket has two zipped handwarmer pockets and an internal zipped security pocket. The heat is all contained in the jacket with elasticated cuffs, YKK moulded centre front zip, a dual tether hem cord and an adjustable, elastine bound Mountain Hood - the hood is purposefully a bit more roomy than usual to allow for a helmet to fit under it for short periods of time.
What's not to love? A well fitting, technical, warm winters jacket which boasts the ability to join you on just about any adventure you can dream up.
