What are the Terra Ridge Pants?
Based on the original and highly sucessful Terra Pant but now using a mix of Granite Stretch and Granite Tough fabrics, these Terra Ridge Pants are perfect for just about any mountain activity you can imagine.
What are they made from?
The main bulk of the fabric used is Montane's classic Granite Stretch fabric; this stretchy, breathable and tough fabric is designed to offer the perfect durability to weight ratio when climbing, walking, scrambling and generally being in mountainous environments. This fabric is then given a durable water repellent coating to add protection from the elements. The second fabric used is Granite Stretch Tough. As you may have guessed, it's a tougher version of their standard fabric and is layered over the knees and instep, areas prone to heavy use. Both of these fabrics are UPF rated to 50+, meaning you're protected during the hotter months of the year. Lastly, microfleece is used on the inside of the waistband to increase comfort and moisture wicking.
What are the features?
You get an included belt, two zipped hand pockets, one of which has an additional security pocket inside, a rear zipped pocket, mesh lined thigh vents to dump excessive heat quickly and effectively and ankle adjustment to taper the trouser in depending on your footwear choice. The waist has also been designed with no stretch, as this prevents it stretching out of size over time.
How do they fit?
If you're famililar with the original Terra Pants, they fit very similarly but with the added benefit of the stretch materials and non-elasticated waist. Essentially, they're not slim, they're not baggy, just perfectly in the middle. The lower of the trouser will easily fit over a mountaineering boot as well as a standard walking boot thanks to the adjustable ankle.
