What are the Abisko Lite Trekking Trousers?
The Fjallraven Abisko Lite Trekking trousers have been developed to provide protection, abrasion resistance, freedom of movement and excellent breathability for trekking and general outdoor use in warmer conditions.
What are they made from?
They are made with a combination of G-1000 Lite and a four way stretch softshell material. G-1000 is a blend of polyester and cotton offering fantastic breathability, durability and is lightly impregnated with Greenland wax to provide water resistance. The Lite version used on these trousers offers enhanced breathability, is cooler to wear and also provides high UV protection and mosquito resistance. The softshell fabric is a tough micro-polyamide with Spandex for complete freedom of movement; it offers fast drying, great packability and a high UV protection. To provide even more protection to the areas that get the most wear, inside the lower legs, Fjallraven have used G-1000 HeavyDuty fabric, which if you haven't guessed, is the burliest version of this versatile and reliable fabric.
What are the features?
As well as all that clever combination of fabrics, the Abisko Lite Trekking Trousers feature an articulated cut with pre-shaped knees and seat to ensure complete freedom of movement. They also feature a higher cut at the back for extra comfort when sitting or carrying a pack. Pockets wise, you get two hand pockets and two large thigh pockets, both of which are zipped to provide secure access. Lower down, the trousers are adjustable depending on whether you're wearing shoes or boots and can be tightened even with bulky gloves. If you find yourself a little warm, each leg features its own thigh vent to dump heat quickly and effectively.
How do they fit?
The Abisko Lite Trekking Trousers are on the slimmer side compared with the Vidda Pro and Keb Trousers, however they're cut brilliantly and are never restrictive. The stretchy panels offer fantastic mobility and the lack of excess 'baggy' material means they're less likely to snag.
