The Aerostat is M.E's take on what the perfect mat should be. With enough tech to even make our heads melt, this sleeping mat has been designed to offer the highest levels of warmth, comfort and durability in a range of conditions.

Being capable of insulating you down to -25°C doesn't come easily, and simply adding more insulation doesn't quite cut it. M.E use the ultra warm and completely synthetic Polarloft insulation to provide a mat which insulates you in horrendously cold conditions. The benefit to synthetically insulated mats is that if the mat gets soaking wet, it will still continue to insulate you, whereas down will eventually soak up the water and become cold. Surrounding this luxurious insulation is a tough 30D nylon which will cope with years of abuse. 

When it comes to inflating the mat, you can't simply blow into it as the moisture in your breath will freeze inside, therefore reducing the thermal efficiency of the mat. M.E include a 'Windsock' to inflate the mat; when you blow into the windsock from a slight distance, it draws the dry air in from around you and inflates the mat rapidly and efficiently without introducing moisture inside. This is also hugely beneficial if you're at altitude and the air is particularly thin (you don't want to be blowing up your mat for 10 minutes at 4000 metres). 

Inflation is also far different from most other brands. A singular valve is used to inflate and deflate the mat (don't ask how, magic and fairies...). What this means is when you need to inflate the mat or add a little more air, no existing air will escape, and when you need to deflate the mat, the air escapes in one rapid motion, meaning you can pack up and move without having to sit on your mat for 20 minutes. 

Weighing just 765g and featuring the ability to go down to ultra-cold temperatures, the Aerostat really is in a league of its own. A minimal pack size, exceptional warmth rating and low weight make it the perfect mat for just about anyone who loves cutting-edge kit.
