What is the Gamma MX?
The brilliant and incredibly versatile Gamma MX Hoody is one of the best mountain softshells available. It performs superbly across a wide range of conditions, fits beautifully and looks fantastic!
What is it made of?
The Fortius 2.0 fabric used to make the Gamma MX is a membrane free, wind-resistant, four-way stretch woven fabric that's been laminated to mid loft 4 way stretch fleece. So it’s very stretchy, very breathable, very tough and very weather resistant making it just about the best all mountain softshells.
What are the features?
You get a fleece lined hood which will accomodate a helmet, two hand pockets, two chest pockets, a laminated sleeve pocket and finally an adjustable hem drawcord to seal out the cold.
How does it fit?
Designed with active users in mind, the Gamma MX is close fitting with long arms and has gusseted underarm panels for completely unrestricted movement. Fitted with a helmet compatible StormHood which can be adjusted down to fit your head comfortably if you are not wearing your lid.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
For the vast majority of the time, the Gamma MX makes a perfect outer layer when moving, however it can also be used as a midlayer underneath a shell if the weather is particularly harsh, or under an insulated jacket when stopping for a lengthy period of time.
