The Petzl Actik head torch has had a bit of a revamp! It’s now brighter than the previous model and weighs less! It is the ideal headlamp for mountaineering, trail running, hiking and backpacking – anything where weight and performance is key.
Two beam patterns (flood or mixed) and several white brightness levels meet the need for high-performance lighting in dynamic outdoor activities. As well as a white light, the Actik features a red-light setting which preserves night vision and prevents members of a group from blinding each other. The simple and uncomplicated design makes it very easy to operate.
This torch features Petzl's Standard Lighting Technology. This basically means the batteries directly power the light source with the maximum light output when the batteries are fresh and then power slowly decreases over the lifetime of the batteries.
The maximum light output is rated at a massive 350 lumens and this can be toggled down to 100 and 6 lumens if required. The maximum burn time is 120 hours, and this is reduced to 2 hours on maximum power. The locking function ensures you don’t accidentally turn on your torch in your pack and waist precious battery life.
If you get caught out in a shower, the Actik is rated IPX4, therefore it'll resist light to medium showers of rain before anything begins to pass through. It's water and weather resistant, basically.
The Actik is also a hybrid; it can be operated with the standard batteries included or by Petzl's own Core rechargeable battery.
