What is the Supercross GTX?
The Supercross is one of the best all-rounded trail running shoes for our typical UK conditions. Their incredibly versatile design and mix of fabrics means they can be used for short sections of road and gravel as well as long days in the mountains or on wet, technical trails.
What are they made of?
Upper: The uppers of the shoes are made from a mixture of breathable ripstop materials and rubber reinforcements. The ripstop fabric is used over the top of the toes, around the collar and in sections along the side of the shoe, while reinforcements are added on the toe and heel for added durability. All of these fabrics are held together using a completely stitch-less construction, instead opting for a welded construction. This provides an almost sock-like feel and reduces the chances of blisters or hot spots developing over time.
Footbed: An Ortholite footbed provides cushioning, support and breathability to the already comfortable Supercross. These can be removed easily to dry if you happen to get a little water over the top of the shoe.
Outsole: If you've already had a browse through the pictures, you'll know what we're talking about when we say they're equipped to deal with the worst the trails and mountains can throw at them. Aggressive V-shaped lugs dig into the ground and provide copious amounts of grip no matter what the weather is doing.
What are the features?
Rather than your traditional laces, the Supercross features Salomon's Quicklace system. Simply pull the toggle down to the shoe and tuck the remaining lace away inside the tongue for a superior fit. Don't worry, they're easily replaceable just like your usual laces!
How do they fit?
The Supercross' feature Salomon's 'generous' fit to allow them to fit most users. Sensifit technology acts a bit like two hands, both pushing the side of the shoe inwards; this provides a secure, comfortable fit for technical terrain.
