What is the Spire Mimic Vest?
The Spire Mimic is a lightweight, super breathable, warm insulated vest featuring Haglofs' new Mimic Gold insulation and a Pertex Quantum recycled outer fabric. It's perfectly suitable for virtually any outdoor activity, from mountaineering to dog walking.
What is it made of?
Insulation: Haglofs use their recycled Mimic Gold insulation throughout the Spire Mimic Vest. Mimic Gold mimics (see where it gets its name?) the natural warmth of down without the negative effects when it gets wet, meaning a more versatile layer in changeable conditions. This insulation is blown into the baffles like down, meaning it's more packable and lightweight than an alternative synthetic vest. Sheet insulation is used down the sides of the vest for greater warmth with fewer cold spots.
Fabrics: Surrounding the insulation is a recycled Pertex Quantum fabric with a durable water repellent coating. This fabric is super lightweight yet offers good all-round durability and weather-resistance.
What are the features?
Two zipped hand pockets provide essential storage for your usual bits and bobs, while an elasticated hem and armholes seal out the cold.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
The Spire Mimic can either be used as a warm midlayer with a shell over the top in heavy rain or as an outer layer in dry, cold conditions. Even if the vest gets soaking wet, it'll still provide warmth and will dry quickly.
