What is the Roc Nordic?
The Roc Nordic has been designed to withstand the harshest nordic winter conditions, so it'll be more than capable enough over here! It uses three variants of Gore-Tex Pro to ensure it's as durable, breathable and comfortable as possible.
What is it made of?
It's made using three variants of Gore-Tex Pro; Most Breathable, Most Rugged and Stretch. Most Breathable is used throughout the body of the jacket, Stretch is used on the back panel and Most Rugged over the shoulders, hood, part of the sleeves and the hips. This means you've got ultra-tough fabrics in areas which receive constant abuse and breathable/stretchy fabrics in areas where you require greater comfort. The outer fabrics surrounding these different membranes also reflects the same design, with a pliable 40D used throughout the main body and a bombproof 70D used on the shoulders and hood.
What are its features?
Starting at the top, a 3-way adjustable hood cinches down close to your head, yet expands to fit a climbing helmet comfortably underneath. A laminated and reinforced peak keeps the rain out of your eyes when it's really chucking it down, however, when the weather is on your side, this hood can be tucked neatly away. Two massive zips down the sides of the jacket allow you to dump heat quickly when cooking up a sweat, yet are placed to avoid heavy rain. Storage is taken care of by two large napoleon chest pockets, one chest pocket insulated with PrimaLoft Aerogel to keep your tech warm, one inner chest pocket and one inner zipped valuables pocket. Other features include a two-way front zip so you can access your climbing harness without lifting the jacket up, an adjustable waist to reduce bulk, articulated sleeves and velcro cuffs. Haglofs even include a RECCO reflector built into the fabric. This is a reflective receiver situated in the jacket, meaning rescuers have a better chance of locating you should the worst happen.
How does it fit?
It features a long, regular to roomy fit with a centre back length of 84.7cm in a size large. It's sized to allow you to fit additional layers underneath in cold conditions but doesn't feel big and baggy. Articulated arms and a stretchy panel on the back increases its comfort even further.
