What is the Motus AR Crew?
The Motus AR is a mid-weight, stretchy, moisture-wicking layer designed for high-output activities in cooler conditions. Use it for trail running, climbing, scrambling and everything in between.
What is it made of?
The Motus AR is solely focused on providing warmth and wicking away sweat when you're working hard. Unlike cotton which absorbs sweat, the Phasic fabric in the Motus will wick it away, keeping you comfortable and dry. As well as this, it provides valuable warmth in colder conditions. Phasic is made primarily from polyester, which is brilliant for warmth and comfort, however, it tends to smell after a full day of use. Arc'teryx have addressed this with a DAO (durable anti-odour) coating, allowing you to wear it for multi-day trips without offending your campmates.
What are its features?
Most of the tech and geekiness is in the fabric, but it does feature a Merrow stitch construction to reduce bulk (it also looks far better!).
How does it fit?
It features a trim, technical fit designed to sit next to your skin. The closer it sits (whilst still remaining comfortable), the better it will work.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
The Motus can either be used as a super-warm baselayer or a lightweight midlayer depending on your activity and the conditions. Size accordingly to where you'll use it most.
