What are the Compressor Pants?
The Compressor Pants are designed to be whipped out of your pack and worn on top of your other legwear to provide extra warmth and protection. Use them for alpine climbing, ski mountaineering or simply when heading out for some cold-weather camping. Thanks to their tiny pack size and weight, you'll barely notice them in your pack.
What are they made of?
Fabrics: The main fabric used is Mountain Equipment's own Helium 20D nylon. Helium is fully windproof, ultra-lightweight and features a durable water repellent coating in case you get caught out. If they do get soaking wet, they'll still provide plenty of warmth and dry quickly thanks to their fully synthetic contents.
Insulation: Providing the warmth inside the Compressor Pants is 80g of Mountain Equipment's own Polarloft synthetic insulation. Unlike down, Polarloft will retain warmth when wet, will dry quickly and requires little maintenance to keep it running at its best.
What are their features?
Full-length side zips allow you easily whip the trousers on and off and the two-way zip means you can ventilate when cooking up a sweat. An elasticated waist keeps the trousers secure, while elasticated lower legs reduce the amount of general detritus entering your footwear. A zipped rear pocket gives you some much-needed storage, or alternatively, the trousers can be packed into this pocket for compact storage. When packed away, you'll find two carabiner loops so you can attach them to your harness.
