What are the Tupilak Pants?
The Tupilak Pants are some of the gnarliest salopettes in existence. Gore-Tex Pro fabrics and a super tough 80D nylon outer make them ideal for winter alpinism, mountaineering and ice climbing.
What are they made of?
The main bulk of the fabric is made from a super tough, thick 80D nylon which shrugs off snow, protects you from sharp ice and resists abrasion during mountainous activities. Backing up this durable fabric are Dyneema reinforced patches at the ankle to deal with crampon strikes and slipped footwork.
Underneath this bombproof outer fabric is a Gore-Tex Pro membrane, arguably the longest lasting and most reliable waterproof membrane available. Mountain Equipment use the most breathable variant of Gore-Tex Pro, ensuring you stay dry from the inside as well as the outside.
What are their features?
An Alpine fit with articulated knees improves mobility, reduces rubbing and allows further layers to be added underneath whilst remaining well-fitted. Two full-length side zips allow you to escape quickly and easily and provide a drop-seat design, giving you the option to 'do your business' without taking them off entirely. Removable gaiters keep the snow where it's supposed to be. Fully adjustable braces and an elasticated waist keep the trousers secure and in place.
