What is the Plume?
The Plume is a super warm, packable and lightweight cap featuring down insulation and a Freeflow water-resistant outer fabric. It's ideal for cold, dry conditions in mountainous environments.
What is it made of?
Insulation: Inside the cap, you'll find 18g of water-resistant, fluorocarbon-free HyperDry down. Down, in its standard form, doesn't like water. If it gets wet, it absorbs the water and loses its warmth — HyperDry is a coating applied to the down to reduce the likelihood of this happening. HyperDry down dries faster, absorbs less water and maintains warmth for longer than untreated down. All down collected is audited by Allied Feather & Down, ensuring none of it was live-plucked and is sourced from geese/ducks that haven't been force-fed.
Fabrics: Surrounding this is a Freeflow Ultralite fabric. As the name suggests, it's about as light as it gets and features a water repellent coating to fend off light showers. The inside is lined with Montane's soft PEAQ fabric for increased comfort.
What are the features?
You've got a pre-curved, stiffened peak, ear-warmer panels for extra warmth and elastication at the back of the head for a snug, comfortable fit. An adjustable chin strap provides further security in windy conditions and an included stuffsack keeps it compact when you're not using it.
