What is the Pacsafe Silver iON Mask?
The Pacsafe Silver iON mask is a reusable and washable mask that provides reliable respiratory protection. It features at least 99% filtration efficiency against microbes and airborne particles and has been proven to deactivate viruses. Although this mask is great for day to day life, it's not for medical applications and due to the nature of the intended end-use, all facemask sales are final and cannot be returned or refunded.
What is it made of?
This mask is constructed with 5 different filter layers; each layer serves a specific function and ensures that the mask’s performance can be retained after washing.
Layer 1 (Outer): The Advanced Silver ions layer contains Silver ions that effectively disinfect and reduce microbes such as viruses and bacteria.
Layer 2: High Fluid Resistance layer provides a protective barrier against splashing.
Layer 3: The Advanced High Charged Filter effectively filters out bacteria, airborne particles and micro-organisms 99% (BFE & PFE) through electrostatic adsorption.
Layer 4: This 3D Skeleton construction layer creates room for comfort, easy breathing and talking.
Layer 5 (Inner): An antimicrobial lining layer made with an ultrasoft Modal fabric and Graphene that effectively absorbs moisture, is antimicrobial and features deodorising properties.
To expand on some of the key layers above, the mask’s top layer is made from a silver iON fabric which has been constructed using pure silver-plating and a cotton wool yarn. The next-to-skin layer is made of an ultra-soft Modal fabric and Graphene, which have antimicrobial, deodorising and moisture-absorption functions. These materials ensure you're kept comfortable and protected. Furthermore, this certified mask able to achieve over 98% filtration even after 20 washes.
Because of the unique Silver and highly efficient release mechanism, it works continuously to inhibit the growth of microbes. Its efficacy has been proven by Silver's ability to disrupt bacteria’s metabolism by preventing it from converting nutrients into energy, which inhibits bacteria survival, reproduction and colonisation. The silver ion is constantly presented on the first layer of the mask, ready to be released 24/7. The Silver remains effective even after repeated washing — it stays inert until it comes into contact with microbes.
What are the mask's functions and features?
Functions include directly inactivating microorganisms through antimicrobial materials and electrostatically adsorbing (the adhesion of atoms, ions or molecules from a gas, liquid or dissolved solid to a surface) microorganisms and particles to protect users. The 3D contoured shape fits any face as well as effectively filtrating airborne particles. (See images above on how the masks should fit).
Further features include adjustable straps and a nose clip for a snug, effective fit. All masks are sterilised and vacuum sealed before shipping for safety and peace of mind.
