What is the Out Day 20+4?Combining Salomon’s expert knowledge in trail running and hiking packs, the Out Day is a pack that has been engineered for comfort on the go. It has been designed for any fast-paced outdoor sport – from fastpacking to day hikes and even longer trail running adventures. It's clean, modern look is complemented by a harness system that lets the pack move with you, and gear attachments that put your poles, ice axes or accessories within easy reach.
What is the Out Day made of?The Out Day is made predominantly from Polyamide and Polyester, with a little bit of elastane in the side and front stash pockets. This is because Polyamide and Polyester not only offer excellent abrasion resistance and durability but also dry exceptionally well if you do happen to get caught out by the elements.
What is the back system?The Out Day uses Salomon’s Motion harness and motion belt. The Flex Sensifit stretches comfortably around your torso while the shoulder straps adapt to your movement. The twin straps wrap your body more precisely. A combination of soft mesh and EVA foam comfortably, and evenly supports the load. Wide vents and a central air channel offer ventilation.
The built-in hip belt accommodates all hip and waist shapes for more load support and comfort. They also feature the same EVA construction that’s in the back system, so the hip fins sit snug and comfortably to your hips. Wide vents in the hip belt allow you to stay cooler while you hike.
The load lifter straps enable you to lift the load closer to your body for better balance while carrying the backpack. You can reverse the sternum strap to adjust with either the left or right hand, and the elastic construction enables easier breathing during intense activity.
What are the features?The Out Day is loaded with clever features which make this pack excel in year-round adventures. Starting with the pockets, you get one large main pocket that will easily swallow a days’ worth of kit. You can open and close the top of your pack easily with a drawcord, whilst a long zip along the side allows access to gear stored at the bottom of the main compartment. The top of the pack is protected by a Speed cover that adapts to the volume of the pack and features an extra top pocket with a key clip. The main compartment is also bladder compatible and features an internal bladder sleeve with a hanging loop. You then get two elasticated, stretchy pockets on the side of the pack and a large zippered stretchy pocket on the front of the pack, which is the perfect place to stash your shell jacket. In addition to all that the pack also has one stretch flask pocket and one front stretch zipped pocket in the front of the harness system which are compatible with Salomon’s 500ml SoftFlasks and two zippered pockets in the hip belt – phew! That’s a lot of storage!
Moving on to all the little gear attachments; the Out Day features extra loops so you can customize your pack by adding a bungee to secure items. Integrated into the pack are lightweight pole holders which can be repositioned where you want them and adjusted to the right length. You then also get a light strap to secure your ice axe to your pack – it can also handily be stowed into the side pocket when not in use. The bottom of the pack features a little loop so you can secure a small lamp to it – perfect if you’re out on the bike!
