Down provides far better warmth for its weight and&nbsp;compresses&nbsp;smaller, which makes it ideal for trips where I still want something warm without carrying a huge sleeping bag.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Because most of my camping happens spring through early autumn, I tend to use a&nbsp;mid weight&nbsp;sleeping bag that balances warmth with comfort.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If the temperature drops more than expected, I usually just add a couple of small tweaks rather than switching bags completely.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Things that help extend the warmth:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A foam mat underneath&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A sleeping bag liner&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A warm base layer&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A hat or buff for colder nights&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My go to is the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trekitt.co.uk\/facetresultsalt.aspx?term=disco%2030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NEMO Disco 30<\/a>, which works&nbsp;really well&nbsp;for warmer season camping and suits the fact that I tend to feel the cold at night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bonus comfort item<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A proper pillow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Not a&nbsp;rolled up&nbsp;jacket pretending to be a pillow.
