What is it?
The Icebreaker Tech Top Long Sleeve is midweight base layer top made from soft jersey-knit 100% pure Merino wool. The jersey-knit is denser and more durable than the Everyday range that uses a rib-knit construction; this also leaves a smooth feeling finish which is great for next to skin comfort.
What is it made of?
This top is made using a mid-weight 260 g/m² 100% merino wool. The wool that Icebreaker use is non-itchy because they are one of only a few companies in the world that use the best quality, superfine merino fibres. The super fine, soft wavy fibres trap air to lock in body heat to keep you warm in cold conditions, while transporting moisture away from the skin to be evaporated; which helps to regulate your temperature, keeping you nice and comfortable.
One of the best features of Merino Wool is its amazing ability to naturally resist odours. You can wear these leggings for many days before it starts to stink, making it perfect for multi-day trips as you will only need to take one base layer. The 260 g/m² fabric is suitable for colder climates for example if you are off skiing in the alps or off to Scotland to do some winter mountaineering.
How does it fit?
The Tech a 'slim' fit which means they're designed to sit snug to your body, without being restrictive. This is so it can both trap warm when the temperatures drop, but also wick sweat away from your body when you're working hard. The design features underarm gussets and set-in sleeves for added mobility, and offset shoulder seams and flatlock stitching throughout prevent chafing across the spectrum of daily motion.
