What is the Nano-Air® Hoodie?
The Nano-Air® Hoodie is a lightweight, breathable, insulated jacket designed for aerobic mountain activities. With this jacket, you won't have to worry about constantly changing layers when exploring above the tree line.
What is it made of?
The outer shell and lining of this jacket are made with 100% recycled polyester shadow stretch ripstop, which is lightweight and breathable. It's finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) that encourages light rain and snow to bead away.
PFC-free means perfluorinated chemical free. Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), used to add water repellent to textiles, aren't able to break down, so once they reach nature via factory water waste, they stay in the ecosystem and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect mammal reproduction and hormone production. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are now prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a more responsible manufacturing process.
The Nano-Air® Hoodie is insulated with FullRange® 100% polyester insulation, which is a synthetic insulation that stays warm when wet and is also animal-free. FullRange® insulation delivers outstanding mechanical stretch and air permeability, allowing excess heat to move away from the body and helping prevent moisture buildup inside the jacket without compromising freedom of movement.
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
What are its features?
A lightly bound, stretchy hood makes for easy on-and-off and provides good freedom of movement without impeding vision. The front zip features a zipper garage by the chin to stop the fastening from snagging and catching on the skin.
Two handwarmer pockets and two chest pockets provide plenty of storage options for small essentials. All pockets are fastened with zips and designed to sit comfortably underneath a climbing harness for rock climbing, belaying and mountaineering.
The jacket's ability to stuff into the left chest pocket makes it easy to transport for multi-day adventures, travelling, and backpacking.
Sleek, low-bulk, snag-resistant cuffs are partially elasticated to provide flexible coverage and comfort. The hem features a dual adjuster to cinch the volume and help seal the warmth in.
