The Fission SV has been the toughest, warmest and most waterproof jacket from Arcteryx Essentials range. Designed to make it more comfortable, stronger and just better.
The Fission SV uses the light but extremely durable N80p-x 2 layer Gore-Tex outer shell that provides excellent waterproof protection with increased breathability. Fill this garment with a highly hydrophobic Coreloft Continuous synthetic insulation and wack a super light air permeable PermaAir 20 liner and you get a super warm jacket that is all about driving and keeping moisture out! Which of course is what Arcteryx have done.
A fully insulated and helmet compatible "Drop Hood" provides essential protection and is attached to an insulated high collar. When not required the hood "drops" out of the way leaving the high collar to provide warmth and seal out the wind. There are also plenty of storage options with two chest pockets, two hand pockets and two internal mesh pockets. All external pockets use WaterTight zips and the main zip has a WaterTight Vislon zip all of which are highly water resistant but not completely waterproof.
Arcteryx have applied their genius E-3D patterning which uses clever design and construction techniques to improve the fit, enhance mobility and reduce overall weight. The end result is that the Fission SV feels fantastic on giving you a real sense of comfort and protection. The Fission SV is cut to the Arcteryx Expedition Fit block which is large and over cut to allow for winter/expedition style layering.
