What is the Dyno XT Jacket?
Using a tough, stretchy, weather resistant outer fabric with a warm brushed lining, the Dyno XT provides reliable warmth and protection during winter activities. Use it for mountaineering, climbing, walking, trekking and more.
What is it made of?
The majority of the jacket is made from Montane's ever-reliable and super tough Granite Stretch. Primarily used in Montane's range of legwear, Granite Stretch, as the name implies, is a super stretchy yet ultra tough and comfortable softshell fabric with a durable water repellent coating. Although this sounds fairly standard, it'll become one of your most used jackets come winter, trust us! The inner of this fabric features a soft brushed lining which wicks away sweat, increases comfort next to skin and adds warmth for colder activities.
What are the features?
Starting at the top, you've got a fully adjustable hood which can be rolled away when not in use and will fit over a climbing helmet to increase warmth and protection. Moving down, a two-way front zip allows you to slip the jacket over a harness, while two fleece-lined, map-compatible hand pockets and two zipped chest pockets store all the essentials that you need close to hand. Cleverly, all pockets have been placed above where a rucksack hipbelt or climbing harness would sit, meaning you can still access your kit 100% of the time. Lastly, an adjustable hem and cuffs seal in the warmth.
How does it fit?
The Dyno XT features an overall average fit, but we'd say it edges on the side of slim. The centre back length is 72cm, so it'll fit those up to and over 6ft without any issues. Articulated arms prevent the hem lifting excessively when reaching above your head.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
The Dyno XT is primarily designed to be worn as an outer layer to provide wind and water repellency. That being said, it can be worn under a shell if the weather is particularly bad and can be layered under an insulated jacket when stationary/moving slowly.
