What is the Eclipse Hooded Jacket?The Eclipse is a lightweight, stretchy, durable fleece designed for high-output activities in cold conditions. It's suitable for anything from alpine climbing to ski touring, making it a phenomenally versatile addition to your kit collection if you like to dabble in various outdoor activities.
What is it made of?The Eclipse is made using two zoned weights of Pontetorto Grid Fleece; you get a warmer, thicker weight throughout the majority of the body and a lighter weight under the arms and in areas which require less warmth. This fabric actively wicks away sweat when you're working hard, weighs very little and provides just the right amount of insulation for aerobic activities where you'll be constantly moving. A Polygiene Stay Fresh coating is then applied to this fabric to reduce the build-up of bacteria (to stop it stinking, basically).
What are its features?It's designed to be simple and effective, so the bells and whistles are kept to a minimum. You get a close-fitting under or over-helmet hood, super-stretchy cuffs with thumb loops and a zipped chest pocket. All seams are cover stitched to reduce chafing.
How does it fit?It fits somewhere between a baselayer and a traditional fleece. It's designed to sit close to maximise insulation and moisture-wicking, however, it's not so tight that it's uncomfortable. It's slim throughout the body and has long arms which allow you to reach up while climbing without exposing yourself to the cold.
