90-day returns period

We hope that you are perfectly happy with your order from Trekitt, but we understand that you may want to return your purchase. We offer a 90 days return period from the date of purchase, and endeavour to process all returns within 48 hours of receipt.

We do not offer a free returns service. Therefore, all customers are responsible for any postage costs when returning any goods (excluding warranty returns).

For your convenience, follow here to the Royal Mail Returns Portal to arrange return postage for your items. This is not a Trekitt operated service.

Exemptions
PPE (Facemasks, Climbing Equipment etc. ), Food Goods, Socks & Underwear can only be returned if they have not been worn and/or removed from their original packaging with all swing tags still attached. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used, tampered with or contaminated in any way, then we cannot accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety. Zips are typically not covered under a manufacturer's warranty.

What is the VR Alpine Jacket?

The VR Alpine Light is an ultra-breathable, weather-resistant, tough and hugely versatile softshell jacket featuring Rab's new and improved Vapour-Rise fabrics. Thanks to its incredible breathability and comfort, it's the sort of jacket you can stick on at the beginning of a walk/climb and leave on all day. 

What is it made of?

The main fabric is supplied by Pertex in the form of their Quantum Air. As you move, this fabric allows a little cool air to pass through; this replaces some of the hot air built-up inside the jacket and keeps you at a comfortable constant temperature. Think of it a little like having the window cracked open in your car. A durable water repellent coating has been added to this fabric to improve overall weather-resistance if you happen to get caught out. 

Underneath this clever outer fabric is where the improvements lie! Rab's new VR (vapour-rise) Wicking liner actively wicks away sweat as you move via a brushed fleece. These little fleecy strands of material carry the sweat to the Quantum Air fabric which allows the moisture vapour to escape. The combination of these two fabrics allows the jacket to be worn virtually all day in the mountains without having to add or subtract layers. 

What are its features?

Starting at the top, a lightweight elasticated hood adds extra warmth and weather protection. Two oversized chest pockets store items you need quick access to, while a two-way front zip allows you to ventilate even further. Conversely, if you want to trap more warm air, the VR Alpine features elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem. 

Where does it fit in the layering system?

Thanks to its high level of breathability, it can be used as a midlayer with a shell over the top in wet, windy conditions or as an outer layer the rest of the time. Personally, I'd use this as an outer layer unless in a torrential downpour.

Measure your inside leg from crotch to ankle blone keeping your leg straight: not as easy as it sounds, you could take a pair of trousers that you already own, that fit you well, and measure from the crotch to the bottom of the leg.

4Sleeve

This is a bit more tricky! Measure from the top of your spine (at the bottom of your neck) to your elbow and on the your wrist

5Arm

You should place the beginning of the measuring tape behind your shoulder, and feed it out following your arm making sure to pass both the elbow joint and the wrist, as pictured. You should take the measurement at the point where you would like the sleeve to end. This is usually just past your wrist.
