What are the Photon Pants?
The Proton Pants are very warm and protective trousers for use in extreme conditions. They're also suitable as an over-layer on cold belays, for extra warmth and comfort around camp or when stationary for longer periods.
What are they made of?
Insulation: Rab's versatile Photon Pants are insulated with their very own Stratus insulation. This super warm and tough insulation is perfect for static protection in extreme conditions with micro-fibres that trap body heat to make it the most thermally efficient synthetic insulation. Each micro-fibre is treated with a durable water repellency so the insulation absorbs very little water, dries exceptionally quickly and retains 95% of warmth when wet. These warm and durable pants are therefore perfect for long periods of inactivity in wet and cold conditions such as belaying, wildlife watching or photography.
Fabrics: The outer of the trousers are made from the ever-reliable Pertex Quantum, providing high levels of water resistance, wind resistance and durability. Despite its tough nature, it's exceptionally lightweight and packable, making these trousers the perfect item to stick in your rucksack and pull out when you need them most. To increase durability and weather resistance, Rab use the fully wateproof Pertex Shield on the knees, instep and seat.
