Working hours: Full time
Location: Herefordshire (with the potential to work from home and office in a hybrid model)
Salary: Dependent on experience

Who are we looking for?
We are now recruiting for a talented eCommerce copywriter and content provider to join our energetic team in our rapidly growing outdoor retail business.

We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for the outdoors and can convey it to our customers with their own natural writing style. They must have a way with words and the ambition to produce the best unique content available in the marketplace.

You will need to be a strong storyteller, adept with the relevant writing software and be eCommerce savvy. A good grasp of SEO would also be a requirement for a strong candidate.
You’ll be working closely with our eCommerce and Marketing teams, as well as liaising with the directors of the business to create effective written communications across all our customer-facing channels, displaying a consistent message following our brand guidelines.

You will be required to take direction and initiative and be comfortable working under pressure, producing content for both online and offline briefs to sometimes tight deadlines. You need to fit in, work well and pull your weight as part of a successful team.

Role:
You will be responsible for delivering accurate and purposeful copy across several mediums, enthusing our customers and aiding them in their purchasing decisions with us.

You will liaise with several teams and stakeholders to plan and create strategies to ensure we offer the highest quality eCommerce environment available in our marketplace.

Managing tasks and your workload using our online project management tools provided by the Microsoft Office 365 suite is fundamental, as is the ability to manage multiple projects at once, take ownership of your work and deliver results that surpass the initial brief.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce unique copy for our website and potentially other customer-facing channels on time and to a high standard
  • Use our Content Management Software to ensure all products are online and available to purchase with unique product descriptions, technical data and appropriate visual assets.  
  • Maintain our blog by writing unique copy and work with the Marketing Team to curate/create supporting assets.
  • Write informative buyers guides that will feature on appropriate product pages.
  • Research and understand new products and technologies.
  • Attend meetings with suppliers to view new products and make notes ready for the coming season.
  • Understand our target audience and identify key messages

Experience, Skills and Traits:

  • Experienced - Provide sufficient evidence of their experience in their portfolio.
  • Qualifications - A degree in English or studied at higher education if preferred, but not essential depending on experience.
  • Live the Outdoors - A passion for the outdoors and a fundamental understanding of the brands and the needs of outdoor users (including climbers, mountaineers, backpackers, trekkers, skiers and adventure travellers).
  • Understands Digital Marketing - Understands digital marketing and search engine optimisation (SEO).
  • Self-Motivated - The ability to work independently and prioritise work effectively.
  • Knowledge Seeker - Good research and analytical skills to gain an accurate understanding of the subject in question.
  • Team Player - Strong interpersonal skills as you'll be working with a range of stakeholders and members of other teams within the company.
  • Innovative - Has a creative approach, both in coming up with ideas for new projects and getting a message across.
  • Competent with Technology - A sound grasp of ICT skills, including using Microsoft Office, WordPress and CMS.
