Five Ten have constructed the Niad Lace with a lined synthetic upper, so expect there to be the absolute minimum of stretch in the shoe, in that case, we recommend buying true to size, or even a half size up if your aim is true all-day comfort on those big walls. With minimal stretch, you can be assured of a reliable and constant fit even after years of heavily abusing your climbing shoe. The Niad have a new form fit low volume heel with laces that go all the way down to the base of the toes, meaning you get a precise, snug fit, allowing you to delicately tiptoe on the thinnest edges. This is further enhanced by a stiff midsole, making the Niad Lace an excellent choice for edging and the flat last also makes for a great smearing experience. The ultra-sticky Stealth C4 rubber on the base of the shoe provides reliable grip on a wide range of rock faces. One key improvement Five Ten have added to the Niad is the extended toe rubber that makes for great toe friction on those tricky toe hooks, this alone makes the Niad more versatile than it’s Anasazi predecessor.
