What is the Banks SF Extra GTX?
The Hanwag Banks SF is a comfortable, reliable and easy to get on with boot featuring a slightly wider fit, a nubuck leather outer and a Gore-Tex membrane for total waterproofing.
How are they constructed?
Upper: The uppers are made using a tough and abrasion-resistant nubuck leather. Although leather requires more care, it's incredibly reliable and is easy to clean when it comes drenched in mud. Thicker areas of fabric are used around the toe and heel to deal with abrasion.
Midsole: Inside the Banks is a reinforced PU foam wedge, providing cushioning and support for all-day comfort. The PU is shaped in a way that promotes a natural roll-off, decreasing fatigue over longer distances.
Membrane: A Gore-Tex membrane lines the Banks, providing total waterproofing in our wet and wild British conditions.
Outsole: A Vibram Trekking sole unit features aggressive lugs to dig into loose ground, while a sharp heel-break aids descents. Small ridges are placed between the forefoot and heel to promote confidence on cables if you decide to tackle some via ferrata routes.
How do they fit?
They feature Hanwag's Straight Fit Extra last, meaning they offer more room in the forefoot and the ball of the foot, providing a superior fit for those who like a slightly wider fit.
