What is the Montane Trailblazer 8?If you've been on the hunt for a super lightweight yet supportive pack for moving quickly in the mountains, then look no further. The Trailblazer is designed to be taken into the mountains for a bit of running, a bit of walking, possibly even mountain biking and fastpacking. With your standard daypack, this wouldn't be comfortably possible, but the Trailblazer's practical design allows it to excel in a multitude of situations.
What is it made from?The main bulk of the bag is made from Montane's own Raptor Cross Lite 70; a super tough yet lightweight nylon used in a wide range of their packs. This fabric features a durable water repellent coating to ensure light rain beads off the surface. For full weather protection, we'd recommend the use of drybags.
What is the backsystem?The Trailblazer 8 features Montane's trail-specific Covalent harness, a body-hugging, ultra-comfortable and stable system which goes virtually unnoticed during use. The shoulder straps are a lot wider and thinner than your standard rucksack, evenly distributing the weight of the pack for ultimate stability. To secure the bag in place, you've got two Click & Go chest straps where, as the name implies, they simply click across to the opposing shoulder strap; no fiddly buckle in sight. When you need to remove the pack, just pull the tab.
Contact Air Mesh is used throughout the contact areas of the backsystem to actively wick away sweat when you're working hard. As well as wicking sweat, it also grips to clothing to ensure it stays in place when the trail gets a little more technical.
What are the features?Most of the features lie in the incredible backsystem and carrying harness, however, it still has some other tricks up its sleeve. Starting with storage, there are two harness pockets with security zips, wrap-around pockets which can be accessed when wearing the pack, an internal organisation pocket and an internal sleeve. Other storage options include multiple attachment points for walking or running poles, a sleeve for a hydration bladder, a front bungee system and front daisy chain loops.
