What are the Back Up Pants?
Simple and to the point. This description? I guess so. These trousers? Absolutely.
The Back Up Pants are waterproof trousers with a minimal design that offer reliable protection in damp and rugged environments. They're durable, breathable and lightweight, perfect for numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, scrambling or even backpacking in wet weather.
What are they made of?
The Back Up Pants comprise bluesign® approved, Oeko-tex certified Gore-Tex® Paclite made of 100% polyester with an ePTFE membrane.
Gore-Tex® Paclite is lightweight and offers optimum packability and breathability. You can easily tuck it into a backpack or kit bag without wasting too much space inside or adding excessive grams to your load. The ePTFE membrane adds extra durability and thermal resistance and has a high strength-to-weight ratio.
Overall, the material is exceptionally robust and can easily withstand bumps and scrapes from regular mountain use.
The material is coated with PFCec-free DWR (durable water repellent) for extra reinforcement against rain and water. The PFCec-free DWR also earns this jacket extra environmental credentials, as it doesn't use toxic chemicals that harm the earth once released through factory waste.
What are their features?
You can adjust the waist using the built-in belt, and cord adjustments at the ends of each leg allow you to keep the weather out and fit them appropriately around different footwear.
3/4-length zippers sit on the outer sides, with a two-way opening for effective ventilation. For example, you could leave the bottom half zipped up and the top half unzipped to get more airflow around the legs. They also allow you to smoothly slide over chunky hiking boots and bicycle shoes if you need to quickly put them on in sudden downpours.
Features:
- Adjustable in waist
- PFC-Free zippers
- 3/4 water resistant zippers at sides with two-way opening
- Cord adjustment in leg end
