What are the Zodiac Tech GTX Boots?
The Zodiac Tech GTX Boots are hybrid hiking and mountaineering boots best suited to prolonged use. Their design is perfect for mountain guides and rescuers, as it's incredibly versatile yet functional, balancing weight, stability and protection effectively.
What are they made of?
The upper is constructed using a combination of Perwanger Suede Leather and textile to provide exceptional durability and support, with enough flexibility to stay comfy. Perwanger have been producing leather for footwear since 1780, so they're pretty good at it! The entire leather process is carried out in Italy, and only the highest quality materials are selected, making it incredibly durable but highly weather-resistant and breathable.
The boots are lined with Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort to provide complete waterproof protection, allowing year-round use in any conditions or terrain. Though waterproof, Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort delivers a high level of breathability to ensure minimal sweat build-up inside.
A Vibram® Mont sole with ABS Precision Cramp offers ample grip and support with deep lugs and a sufficient heel brake for descents. Vibram® Mont soles are incredibly durable and have been used to conquer the highest peaks in the world. They offer the highest reliability in the sketchiest terrains at low temperatures.
What are their features?
These boots provide full support and protection on mixed terrain, even with a heavy, fully loaded backpack. They feature patented BAS (Bascula Adaptive System) technology, which provides stability and grip. The rocker shaping of the sole helps the foot to move more naturally off the ground to enhance comfort and help prevent foot fatigue.
A chunky rubber rand guarantees foot protection by reinforcing the toes and sides of the feet. Plus, embossing in the upper helps to keep the boot's shape without compromising flexibility to accommodate a range of movement when navigating steep or uneven ground.
A Sock-Fit XT construction system wraps around the foot like a sock to help stabilise and secure it inside without feeling tight or restrictive.
Finally, Scarpa's ActivFit technology uses specific shaping of the boot to guarantee absolute comfort and deliver maximum performance by hugging the foot and ankle comfortably when the foot naturally rocks on and off the ground.
