What are the X-Ultra Wide GTX Shoes?
They're wide-fit waterproof shoes built for hiking, single-day adventures and exploring mixed and alpine terrain in various conditions. Thanks to their specially developed design, they provide ample comfort and support with Gore-Tex® waterproof protection for optimum performance and breathability.
What are they made of?
The upper of these shoes uses a synthetic textile to help reduce weight. It offers exceptional durability and abrasion resistance for tackling tricky, technical terrain and rocky mountain paths.
A Gore-Tex® membrane backs the upper to protect the entire shoe completely. A repellent treatment is then applied to provide extra reinforcement, ensuring water beads off the surface instead of soaking in. To help move moisture away from your foot, the X Ultra 4 features a soft, breathable lining for day-long comfort.
Salomon uses their EnergyCell EVA foam inside the X Ultra 4 to cushion and absorb shock on hard ground.
The moulded OrthoLite insole matches your foot's contours and provides superior cushioning, breathability and durability to enhance the shoe's comfort and performance.
All Terrain Contagrip MA outsoles are built for a variety of surfaces. They balance the geometry and the rubber compound to deliver confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces and offer long-term durability. A Chevron Lug design digs in deep and provides a multi-directional grip, improving traction on soft surfaces like mud or loose dirt.
What are their features?
The construction in the upper shoe features 'Active Support', which utilises mobile wings to help hold the foot in place and accompany its movement, adapting to its shape and volume.
Advanced Chassis™ technology protects ankle articulations on the outer foot and provides additional stability while keeping the front of the shoe flexible for a more natural step.
A gusseted tongue connects to the upper on both sides, preventing debris from entering the shoe and keeping the tongue centred.
SensiFit™ cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customised fit around the foot. A rubber wrap sits around the base of the foot and acts as a mudguard to protect the lateral and medial sides of the foot on uneven, rocky terrain.
A Quicklace™ system provides a fast and easy solution to tieing your laces and can be tucked away neatly into the little pocket on the tongue to prevent it from flapping around and hanging loose.
Last but not least, these shoes have a wide fit to accommodate broader feet.
