What are the Zodiac GTX?
The Zodiac GTX are technical shoes designed for mountain adventures. Thanks to the built-in Gore-Tex® technology, they offer complete waterproof protection for challenging conditions and are designed with functionality for prolonged hill days in all conditions.
What are they made of?
The upper is constructed using a combination of Perwanger Suede Leather and textile to provide exceptional durability and support, with enough flexibility to stay comfy. Perwanger have been producing leather for footwear since 1780, so they're pretty good at it! The entire leather process is carried out in Italy, and only the highest quality materials are selected, making it incredibly durable but highly weather-resistant and breathable.
Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort lining provides waterproof protection with ample breathability for intense activities. Extended Comfort technology is developed to prevent water from seeping inside the shoe whilst allowing sweat vapour to escape, regulating temperature and improving comfort without compromising protection. Clever, huh?
A Vibram® Mont sole with ABS Precision offers ample grip and support with deep lugs and a sufficient heel brake for descents. Vibram® Mont soles are incredibly durable and have been used to conquer the highest peaks in the world! They offer the highest reliability in the sketchiest terrains at low temperatures.
What are their features?
They feature patented BAS (Bascula Adaptive System) technology, which provides stability and grip. This technology utilises soft concentric areas on the toe and heel to allow the soles to adapt to the ground as you move.
37.5 technology is built into the upper, optimising temperature regulation for enhanced comfort and moisture management.
A chunky rand around the heel and toe provides reinforcement and protection from tricky terrain and rock. The heel control design also facilitates progression on steep, sloping terrain, giving you extra confidence when you need it most.
A Sock-Fit XT construction system wraps around the foot like a sock to help stabilise and secure it inside without feeling tight or restrictive.
Finally, Scarpa's ActivFit technology uses specific shaping of the shoe to guarantee absolute comfort and deliver maximum performance by hugging the foot and ankle comfortably when the foot naturally rocks on and off the ground.
