What is the Gecko VP 20+?
The Gecko VP 20+ is a running vest with a large construction designed for longer-distance fast-paced activities, making it ideal for anything from trail running and ultrarunning to marathons and multi-day races.
What is it made of?
This running vest is made primarily out of 70D Raptor Cross Lite which is super lightweight yet highly durable to withstand regular use in various conditions and terrain. Stretch pockets are constructed with Raptor Flex Four-way 40:30, offering plenty of flexibility to accommodate different items and water bottles without unnecessary weight and bulk.
The harness uses Contact Air Mesh Plus to provide extra ventilation where you need it most. Contact Air Mesh Plus is light, durable and highly breathable, helping to regulate temperature and reduce sweat build-up around contact points.
All these materials are treated with Polygiene® - an odour control treatment that helps to keep the textiles fresher for longer, meaning you can even get away with washing it less - win-win!
What are its features?
The stability control construction and Freelight Chassis™ help balance the weight evenly and keep you comfortable on the move.
There are two stretch chest straps with multiple attachment points, which help keep the vest in place and offer additional external storage, should you need it. There are also two side wand pockets and multiple easy-access pockets, ideal for trail snacks, energy gels, gloves and hats that you may want to reach quickly without having to stop and take the whole vest off.
To fill those pockets, the Gecko VP also comes with two 500ml Montane Ultraflasks™! These are a great alternative to water bottles for intense activities as they can compact down once emptied to minimise space-taken and weight.
Alternatively, this vest is compatible with Montane SoftFlasks™ and hydration bladders and straws if you need to carry extra liquids.
The zipped main compartment gives you space for extra layers like a shell jacket and accessories. It has a top lid with an accessible pocket for smaller items like headphones or a mobile.
An internal key clip does exactly what it says on the tin - keeps your keys safe whilst out on the trails by preventing them from falling out as you run. There's even a removable whistle that you can use to attract attention in an emergency or simply to annoy your running partner.
Top tensioners and side compression straps allow you to cinch any dead space to stop your belongings from wobbling about inside.
If you're a fan of using poles, then you're in luck! The Gecko VP also has multiple pole attachment points, giving you somewhere safe to tuck your poles into when they're not being used.
At the bottom of the vest, a unique Active Strap ensures the harness will close securely and offers a quick release when needed.
