What are the Courmayeur SO Pants?These are the trousers you'll reach for when climbing, scrambling and hiking. In the winter, they're weather-resistant and robust enough to deal with some pretty nasty conditions, then in the summer, the Schoeller softshell fabric keeps things nice and breathable.
What are they made of?They're made using Schoeller softshell fabric, a simple yet bombproof mix of nylon and spandex. The nylon provides exceptional durability and weather-resistance, while the spandex adds essential stretch and comfort. A PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) allows water to simply bead up and roll off the surface of the trouser. It's worth pointing out that this does not make the trousers waterproof; you'll still need a good old fashioned pair of overtrousers for that.
To increase weather-resistance and durability even further, Mammut has reinforced the seat, knees and lower legs, areas which will typically face the most abrasion and moisture.
What are the features?Starting with storage, there are two zipped hand pockets, a zipped leg pocket and a seat pocket. The pockets have been cut to offer great storage but also keep out of the way of a climbing harness, essential when you’re out climbing or mountaineering. An adjustable leg width gives you the option to wear a varied selection of footwear, along with a stowable hook in the bottom cuff that allows for secure attachment to mountaineering boots. The hem has an asymmetric shape to further accommodate mountaineering boots. The waistband of the trousers has been made especially wide and can be adjusted from the outside, making these trousers supremely comfortable.
How do they fit?They feature a fairly slim fit with a tapered leg. When we say 'slim', there's enough room underneath for an additional layer and the fabric is more than stretchy enough to accommodate various leg sizes.
