What is the Ether Glove?
The Ether is a lightly insulated, fully waterproof glove for virtually any winter mountain activity. Thanks to Rab's clever use of insulation, the Ether remains highly dexterous despite its durability and warmth.
What are they made of?
Starting from the exterior, the Ether features a super tough leather palm and fingers to deal with handing tools, ropes and to deal with general mountain abuse. Underneath this, a Dryflex membrane provides total waterproofing, ensuring your hands stay dry when everything else is soaking wet. Finally, a soft Bemberg lining wicks away sweat and provides a comfortable surface for your hands to sit against.
Insulation wise, you get 40g of Rab's own Stratus synthetic insulation on the palm, while 60g is layered over the back of the hand. The benefit of this insulation is that if it does happen to get saturated, it will still provide plenty of warmth.
What are the features?
The Ether's feature a low profile cuff tab which fits nicely under jacket sleeves, a tab on the finger to attach the gloves to your harness when not in use, a soft patch on the thumb to wipe your nose with and a small buckle to attach the gloves together.
