What are the Compact Poles?
Designed and made in Italy, Fizan's poles are some of the lightest in the world. This particular set of poles weigh just 158g each, meaning each pole weighs about the same as the phone in your pocket! Despite their light weight, they will easily cope with ardous trekking duties as well as gentle countryside walking.
What are they made of?
The poles are largely made from a super high quality 7001 aluminium, making them extremely lightweight yet tough enough to last years of regular use and abuse. The quality of this aluminium allows Fizan to use a thinner grade of material with the same strength as an inferior quality at a greater thickness. The grip is made from a soft, grippy EVA foam which moulds to the shape of your hands and resists slipping if you get a little clammy.A soft polyester fabric is used for the grip and secures your hand in place during more technical outings. Lastly, carbide is used for the tip of the poles for superior durability.
What are the features?
Adjusting the poles is an easy as putting on a pair of socks. Simply twist one of the sections of pole, adjust to the desired length and twist back the other way to lock it in place. This adjustment is called FlexiSystem and is strong enough to withstand 100kg of force.
Have you ever used a pole that felt 'sticky' to adjust? Fizan have ensured all lettering/measurements on the pole sections are lasered on rather than printed; this ensures the pole slides effortlessly up and down without catching over time.
Included is a rubber tip which you can slip over the carbide tip when walking on harder surfaces — this not only prolongs the life of the pole but also stops that annoying 'ticky tack' sound! Also included are two baskets, one 35mm and one 50mm.
