What is the Groove Hoodie?
The Groove Hoodie is perfect as a warm midlayer in the mountains, as a comfortable hoodie while climbing or simply for lounging around the house. To top it off, it's been developed in conjunction with the BMC, so you know it's been designed for climbers by climbers.
What is it made of?
The main fabric used is Polartec's Thermal Pro with the integration of Lyocell yarns. Thermal Pro is based on your traditional and well-loved fleece but features a pill-resistant exterior and a structure which creates pockets of warm air inside, keeping you warmer for longer. It also breathes incredibly well and wicks away sweat when you're working hard. Lyocell is made using the natural cellulose found in wood pulp, meaning it's environmentally friendly and fully biodegradable. It is naturally anti-bacterial and adds a degree of softness to the fabric, making it feel like a cotton hoodie without the moisture-absorbing effects.
What are the features?
Most of the features lie in the clever fabrics, but you do get a relaxed fitting hood with a stretchy lining, nice wide cuffs and a low profile hem.
How does it fit?
It's slimmer than your standard everyday hoodie, but not as snug as a technical midlayer. It has an average length which sits just below the hips and never feels restrictive.
Where does it fit in the layering system?
It can either be used as a super warm midlayer for cold mountain activities or as an outer layer when climbing or walking in still, dry conditions.
