90-day returns period

We hope that you are perfectly happy with your order from Trekitt, but we understand that you may want to return your purchase. We offer a 90 days return period from the date of purchase, and endeavour to process all returns within 48 hours of receipt.

We do not offer a free returns service. Therefore, all customers are responsible for any postage costs when returning any goods (excluding warranty returns).

Exemptions
PPE (Facemasks, Climbing Equipment etc. ), Food Goods, Socks & Underwear can only be returned if they have not been worn and/or removed from their original packaging with all swing tags still attached. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used, tampered with or contaminated in any way, then we cannot accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety. Zips are typically not covered under a manufacturer's warranty.

What is the Odin Mountain Shell?

The Odin is a fully waterproof, windproof, highly protective and feature-packed hardshell designed for hiking and ski touring. Designed and tested alongside mountain guides, Helly Hansen have left no stone unturned. 

What is it made of?

The Odin features Helly Hansen's own Helly Tech Professional fabric. This is made using a 3-layer construction — a super tough nylon outer, a fully waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane in the middle and a breathable inner to protect the membrane. Helly Tech features millions of tiny little holes in its fabric; these holes are so small that water droplets cannot pass through (rain, to you and me), but water vapour (sweat) can pass through. This means you're kept at a more consistent temperature as your sweat can evaporate rather than being trapped inside. The outer fabric is given a durable water repellent coating to further enhance breathability and weather resistance. 

What are its features?

The Odin features a removable, low-profile powder skirt, preventing snow and general debris flicking up your back, while a comfortable and protective hood will fit your head snugly with or without a climbing helmet thanks to three points of adjustment. Helly have designed the adjustment points so the hood moves with your head, rather than your head turning inside the hood. Under both arms, you'll find large zipped openings to dump large amounts of heat quickly when you're working hard. Due to their clever positioning, they can be left open when it's raining without rain ingressing. 

Storage is provided by 6 pockets; one chest pocket, two hand pockets, one inner zipped pocket, one ski pass pocket and one inner dump pocket. The hand pockets are positioned fairly high to avoid sitting underneath a climbing harness or rucksack hipbelt, and the inner zipped pocket is the perfect place to stash a phone. Finally, as you'd expect, you've got velcro cuffs and an adjustable hem.

Care and maintenance

To keep your outdoor clothing and equipment in tip top condition and performing to its maximum we recommend the use of Nikwax products. We have been using Nikwax products since day one (26th March 1986) and have found them to be totally reliable, dependable and effective. Today’s Nikwax treatments contain environmentally friendly elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to fabric fibres, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. These stretchy polymers are able to stretch and move with the fabric so they stay put for longer and work better.

Nikwax treatments will not change the look or feel of the fabric and they are all water based, environmentally safe, non-flammable and contain no nasty Fluorocarbons. Nikwax products can be used to clean, re-proof and revitalise all your outdoor technical clothing and equipment.

Waterproof breathable clothing has a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish applied to the face fabric during the manufacturing process. The DWR forces water to bead up and roll off the surface therefore preventing the fabric from absorbing moisture. If the outside of your jacket is soaked in a layer of cold water, the warm damp air within can’t escape and will condense on the inside. This makes the jacket feel cold clammy and can make you think that it’s leaking. The DWR finish is not permanent and needs to be maintained and revitalised to optimise performance.

This three layer waterproof jacket should be cleaned regularly with Nikwax Tech Wash; I wash my jacket about once a month, or more often if it gets really filthy. Regular washing with Tech Wash will maintain the DWR for longer and remove salts and oils that can contaminate the fabric, and it will keep your lovely jacket clean and smelling fresh. Washing can be done in a machine according to the manufacturers care guidelines (on the internal label). First clean out any detergent and conditioner residue from the machine dispenser and then add the required amount of Tech Wash and away you go. Hand washing is also suitable but be sure to rinse the garment well.

When you notice that rain/water is no longer beading up and rolling off it’s time to re-proof. Nikwax TX Direct will re-instate a long lasting DWR to completely rejuvenate your jacket. Re-proofing can also be done in the machine once a garment has been washed. Just add the TX-Direct and use the same programme you used for washing. You can also use the spray-on product on a damp garment that has just been washed.

You wouldn’t buy a Ferrari and never have it serviced, so make sure you regularly wash and re-proof your quality kit.
