What is the Lite Hike GTX?
As the name suggests, the Lite Hike GTX is a lightweight, breathable, fully waterproof boot for year-round walking; they’re perfect for just about any mountain and weather condition you’ll find in the UK. Despite its technical intentions, the subtle styling means it can just as easily be used for everyday wear around town.
What are they made of?
Upper: The Lite Hike features a suede leather and mesh outer, providing high levels of abrasion resistance and breathability. This tough suede is reinforced around the toe with thick rubber to deal with knocks and bumps along the trail.
Membrane: Underneath these fabrics lies a fully waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane, keeping your feet dry and protected in our typically wet and boggy UK conditions.
Footbed: Meindl's own Air-Active footbed provides a comfortable surface for your foot to sit on and features small ventilation holes to increase breathability.
Midsole and Outsole: Keeping you firmly planted is Meindls own Multigrip G4 rubber grip sole with an EVA shock absorber and TPU heel stabiliser. This sole perfectly balances durability and grip, whether you're walking in the slop or on dry, hardpacked gravel.
What are its features?
The buckles around the cuff of the boot allow you to customize the fit depending on how snug you like you cuff to be and what you find comfortable. The lacing spans all the way down to the toe area, giving you further stability and customization.
