What are the Selvatica GTX Mid Ranger Boots?
The Selvatica GTX are incredibly lightweight, durable, waterproof boots suited to multi-terrain activity and long mountain days. Whether backpacking, trekking, hiking or scrambling, they provide optimum comfort and protection, thanks to their robust and supportive construction and built-in Gore-Tex® technology.
What are they made of?
The upper is constructed with welded PU film with Air 8000® technology to optimise breathability to promote temperature regulation and all-day comfort in various climates.
Air 8000® helps to reduce moisture build-up inside the shoe and reduces the chance of hot spots and blisters developing. The technology uses a specially designed fabric that gets more permeable over a 24-hour period and is up to 11.5 times more breathable than conventional fabrics.
The boots are lined with Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort, prioritising waterproofness and breathability. It's perfect for humid climates and intense activities where you'll be working up a sweat. The technology won't let water droplets in, but it does allow water vapour from the inside (generally sweat) to escape.
Midsoles are made from injected EVA to help absorb shock and impact, while the sole is made from Vibram's® unique combination of foam and rubber, in the form of a Vibram® Selvatica Megagrip sole. Megagrip soles are designed to provide optimal balance and stability, with plenty of flex to adapt to uneven, rocky surfaces. It provides unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces and longevity to last years of regular use.
What are their features?
The Selvatica GTX Mid Rangers are designed to offer dynamic support in the shoe upper and sole. Their PU treatment eliminates stitching to reduce weight and bulk and gives an overall smoother finish.
The sole tread has been developed with AKU Elica Natural Stride System technology, which integrates the boot's last, insole board, midsole and outsole to follow the anatomical shape of the foot. This technology allows it to adapt to the natural shape of your heel and forefoot, helping reduce impact and strain in demanding environments if you're on your feet for a long time. It also provides a more even distribution of pressure in each stride and better arch support during midstance.
Finally, Ortholite® anti-microbe, breathable insoles provide all-round comfort and shock absorption for maximum comfort.
