What is the Vardag Pile Vest?
The Vardag Pile Vest is a chunky pile fleece vest that looks stylish and feels warm and cosy for the colder months. It's perfect for casual use and outdoor lifestyles, whether you're spending a day in the mountains, heading down to the pub on a Friday evening or even getting cosy at home.
What is it made of?
The Vardag Pile Vest is made with a two-layer teddy fleece constructed from 100% recycled polyester and G1000® Eco on the chest pocket.
Overall, it feels fairly heavy compared to other fleeces in the range but provides exceptional warmth for everyday life and harsh winters. This gilet is less of a technical garment and more of a relaxed, insulative piece.
The recycled polyester is mainly made of recycled post-consumer PET bottles and sometimes unusable fabric offcuts and trims from factories, helping reduce air, water and soil contamination and waste that would otherwise be going to landfill.
As mentioned, the chest pocket is constructed with G1000® Eco, one of Fjallraven's signature materials.
It uses a blend of 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton, which is lightweight, ventilating and hardwearing.
G1000® materials can be adapted to different personal preferences or climatic conditions using Greenland Wax. The wax allows you to customise the fabric's properties, such as wind and water resistance and breathability.

The Vardag Pile Vest has a fluffy textured outer, and a flat knitted jersey feel inside that is smoother and soft next to the skin. Subtle Fjallraven branding on the front, featuring the classic Fjallraven logo from the 1970s, compliments the rest of the garment nicely.
The front is fastened with a zipper and has an inside placket that acts almost like a storm guard to help keep cold weather out and reduce the risk of the zip snagging.
It has two hand pockets secured with zippers, ideal for storing a purse, car keys, snacks or headphones, and as previously mentioned, a zipped G1000® Eco chest pocket that easily fits a mobile phone.
Elastic edging helps keep the heat inside, pulling the material slightly closer to the body without feeling uncomfortable or restrictive.
