What is the Abisko Lite Jacket made from?The Abisko Lite jacket, as the name might suggest, is a light, well-ventilated option for warm-weather treks. Underarm stretch gussets and a full-stretch back panel provide great fit and airflow, combined with side zippers for additional ventilation on those tough, warm days. The stretch is combined with G-1000 Lite Eco fabric for protection from the elements and to resist abrasion from backpack straps etc.
The main fabric used on the Abisko Lite is Fjallraven’s own G-1000 Lite Eco, a lightweight but still durable polyester/cotton blend, offering wind and water resistance made further adaptable by the ability to be waxed with Greenland Wax.
What are the features? Starting at the top, you’ve got an adjustable, well-fitting hood, offering protection from the elements. A two-way main zip and zippered side openings take care of the ventilation, allowing you to keep cool when out hiking on warmer days or just when working hard. Stretch fabric on the back and under-arm gussets ensure great fit and ventilation, maximizing freedom of movement. Two zippered hand pockets have been positioned a little higher, out of the way of rucksack hip belts. Talking of hip belts, the jacket features no side seams around the waist, maximizing comfort when wearing a pack. Velcro adjustments on the sleeves and a hem drawcord round out the features.
How does Abisko Lite Jacket fit?The Abisko features Fjallraven's 'regular' fit, meaning there is enough room underneath for layers, yet it doesn't feel big and baggy when you've just got a base layer or t-shirt underneath. The arms and body are fairly long and there's plenty of articulation thanks to those stretch panels under the arms and across the back.
